Why Raising Everyday Disciples?

So, why are we called Raising Everyday Disciples?
Deuteronomy 6:4-7 says: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”
These verses are the heart of why we are called Raising Everyday Disciples. Let me give you a few reasons why…
Firstly and most importantly, we desire to love the Lord with all of our hearts and worship Him in everything we do. But we don’t want to just keep this to ourselves, we want to share this with everyone around us in our daily lives- whether that is our families, our friends, our neighbors, or our coworkers, we desire to share this great God that we serve with those around us.
We have a heart to help people see the power of the gospel in the everyday, mundane parts of life, and also to see the impactful moments for discipleship in the midst of these everyday parts of life. Our goal is to equip you to see God at work in the everyday moments, to help you to disciple your kids and others God puts in your path, and to see God as worthy of the praise of all the nations!
We believe this starts in the everyday moments of life as we worship God, have His Word on our hearts, and as we teach it diligently to others when we sit down, as we walk by the way, as we lie down, and as we rise- all throughout each and every day.
Come along on this journey with us as we discover together what this might practically look like, resources to help you along the way, and encouragement to persevere in the everyday, sometimes mundane parts of life. It’s not always pretty, in fact, it’s mostly filled with ups and downs, but this is where God meets us, teaches us, and transforms us.

Hello! My name is Kristin and I am the writer here at Raising Everyday Disciples! I am a major extravert and married to an amazing hubby with two beautiful kiddos. I love to be with people, to sew, travel, run, hike, bike, and to read a book with a good cup of coffee in hand. Oh, did I mention, all of those things are best when done with people 🙂 I have a background in social work and have a real passion for helping families across the globe.
I have a heart for sharing Jesus and His Kingdom to the world through discipleship. My desire in all things is to love God, love others, be changed into the likeness of Christ, and to help others to do the same. I pray that as you come along on the journey with me, you will see that I am just an everyday disciple, growing and changing right along with you, and that God is our great, powerful, and mighty King who is worthy of the praise of all nations!
